Skywave TV brings the digital entertainment experience to your home. This cutting-edge technology and superior quality that is surpassing existing cable and terrestrial services has earned consumer acceptance around the world. How Does It Work?

Skywave TV services are transmitted from Macau Cable's all-digital broadcast and production complex. The digitally processed signals are uplinked to the AsiaSat 4 Satellite and then downlinked directly to the users.

To receive Skywave TV signals, all it takes is a 35cm satellite dish that you can set up on the roof, the balcony or in the garden of your home. The dish receives the downlinked signals and transmits them to a digital set-top-box (STB) which is connected to a television set. The STB extracts, decompresses and decodes the audio, video and data signals relayed by the satellite.

When a Skywave TV Smart Card is inserted into the STB, the encrypted signals are unscrambled, providing conditional access to Skywave TV's programmes for authorized subscribers. In some cases, subscribers may need both a smart card and voucher card to activate the service.
